I still, to this day, can not wrap my head around how single people (or small groups) can, in their spare time, without access to the code base and sometimes with having to reverse engineer the entire code, Produce better results than the company itself.
Most manufacturers employ dozens (hundreds) of developers that spent their whole day programming the OS. That's their only job. Yet, sometimes only days after release, XDA Developers improve on the Kernel, OS or App and fix Problems those company's struggle with for years.
What is going on there. Is Samsung (for example) unable to employ competent programmers that can Produce the best OS they can. Since XDA can do it better (mostly) in our spare time on home PC's with no access to the source code, it shouldn't be a Problem of time or money. Do they WANT a crappy experience for the users?
